Soul-baring singer Moody Bank$ has risen in just a few years to become one of the most sought-after R&B artists with her arresting vocals and soul-stirring sound. The singer commanded attention off the back of her 2020 debut single, Quaran’tea, following the single with the confessional, DREAM PORT. She would end the year on a high note, dishing out her first-ever project, Full Blunts, and Full Moons, a robust pack of emotionally honest tunes.

With such an impressive catalogue, Moody Bank$ continued to develop her sound and hone her voice, enriching with her vulnerability about her pains and passions. Her new EP, Feeling Colors, is a replica of Moody Bank$’s tender heart, spinning conversational tales in a calmly measured manner.

“On Note to Self”, Moody showed flashes of growth in her songwriting as she croons and softly blends her rich tone into a ticking piano. On “Work It Out”, we can feel the conflict that arises in relationships where one partner feels no connection. All the same, Moody Banks seeks a solution to the unhealthy situation as opposed to allowing it to continue. Her soulful voice on “JOY RIDE” is set to an underwhelming beat; Moody Bank$ speaks of herself and the things that she is sure of.

Other tracks on the EP sway more to Moody Bank$’s incisive writing and compelling imagery as she digs deeper into topics of relationship drama, romantic desire and her yearning for a fruitful union with a love interest. Seasoning these smooth, relaxing tracks with her honeyed voice is one ingredient that powers this EP. With her sweet-sounding style and a penchant for broaching emotional tales, Moody Bank$’s sound is a delight to listen to.
